Beginning in the closing years of the 1980s, Carlos Navas took on management duties for both Tetê Espíndola and Alaíde Costa. By 1992 he had joined Alzira Espíndola as a vocalist and begun appearing in performances alongside the Luli e Lucina duo as well as the vocalists Tetê Espíndola and Alzira Espíndola. The year 1996 brought an invitation from the Dabliú label to record after he launched the production Canções e Momentos in São Paulo. That opportunity yielded his debut album Pouco Pra Mim, which appeared in 1997. Sharing the stage with actress Clarisse Abujamra, he presented Por Um Triz at Sesc Vila Mariana in São Paulo during 2000. That same year he served among the soloists for Sinfonia Paulistana alongside Zé Luís Mazziotti, Claudya, Célia, and the symphonic ensemble São Paulo Ensemble, all part of the festivities marking São Paulo’s anniversary.
