Chez Damier

Chez Damier entered the world in Chicago yet maintains links to Detroit through Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson, even as his productions gravitate toward the foundational New York garage aesthetic. Late in the 1980s he launched his career behind the decks and in the studio, sharing mixes with Frankie Knuckles and May while also penning material for Inner City. A standout run of Balance EPs in 1997 prompted his signing to the French imprint Distance that same year, restoring his visibility across the steadily expanding garage landscape.
