Children

The New York outfit Children came together through the combined abilities of guitarists Skyler Spohn and Jonny "Rad" Ollsin from S.T.R.E.E.T.S., along with drummer Adam Bennati of Early Man. Their sound fuses the melodic yet destructive force reminiscent of Judas Priest and the Iron Maiden period within New Wave of British Heavy Metal alongside the heavy Sabbath influences and retro-thrash approach found in contemporary metal groups such as Mastodon and the Sword. Emerging from informal jam sessions during 2006, the group ramped up live performances, which led to the issuance of their first album on Kemado, titled Hard Times Hanging at the End of the World, by 2009.
