CHINCHILLA fuses empowering pop with defiant dance tracks, melodic power ballads, and swaggering alt-rap. The 2020 release Awakening served as her debut EP and delivered a critical breakthrough. Three years later she scored her first major commercial hit when "Little Girl Gone" entered the Canadian charts and climbed into the Top Three of Billboard's Hot Digital Songs chart.

Drawing on pop, hip-hop, and bass-heavy club sounds, the London, U.K. native surfaced from the local scene with the striking "Elements" in early 2019. Her assured, combative tone surfaced in the titles of later tracks that year such as "Fabulous" and "Demand Respect." Awakening, her widely praised debut EP, appeared in April 2020. Mostly self-recorded, the set contained two collaborations: Jordan Lees co-wrote "Shadows" and played piano on the track, while Mort co-wrote and produced "Know No." A guest spot on NOËP's "On My Way" later that year expanded her reach. Before the year closed she issued her Columbia Records debut, the solo dance-urging "The Lockdown Getdown," which featured R&B harmony vocals.

Her follow-up EP, Moon Maintenance for Dummies, surfaced on Columbia in August 2021 and highlighted the menacing single "Fingers." Crime references reappeared on tracks including the Ren collaboration "Chalk Outlines" and 2023's boisterous "Little Girl Gone," which reached the Billboard digital songs Top Three and entered Canada's Top 100.
