Chris Bowden

For years Chris Bowden circulated through the acid jazz scene, sharing stages with acts that ranged from K-Creative to Jhelisa Anderson. Those experiences helped him shape a personal style, which he first presented on his debut solo album, Time Capsule, issued in 1996. Released by Soul Jazz, the recording fused his interest in space jazz with an affection for kitsch across a single extended work. He later appeared with 4hero and Basement Jaxx and other groups, yet eventually resumed writing material for his own use. That renewed focus returned him to the studio to complete Slightly Askew, issued by Ninja Tune in 2002.
