Biography
In autumn 1993, Denver gave rise to the emo band Christie Front Drive, assembled by singer/guitarist Eric Richter together with guitarist Jason Begin, bassist Kerry McDonald and drummer Ron Marschall. Their modest catalog—a self-titled EP, a split ten-inch alongside Boy's Life, and one cut on the (Don't Forget to) Breathe compilation—proved sufficient for the quartet to attain legendary standing among emo devotees, an influence that still guides newer acts. Christie Front Drive dissolved in May 1996 after finishing the Stereo record, although scattered posthumous releases and reissues continued to surface in subsequent years. Begin and Marschall eventually regrouped in the Blue Ontario, while Richter launched Antarctica.
