German producer Christopher Rau crafts house music steeped in depth and dreaminess, relying on cozy and unhurried loops to shape its atmosphere. Projects like the 2012 album Two radiate ease, delight, and a faint melancholy, extending fleeting instants into sustained contemplative passages.

His earliest outing arrived as the 2008 EP Gribuntal on Gedankensport. In 2009 he debuted on Smallville Records through a split single shared with Sven Tasnadi. That imprint followed with his first album Asper Clouds plus a joint effort alongside Smallpeople during 2010. Prior to his next Smallville long-player Two in 2012, he placed singles on imprints including Giegling, Hypercolour, and Pampa. Additional joint releases appeared with Jacques Bon under the Bon & Rau name and with Sebastian Genz as Roaming, while a handful of tracks credited to the alias Rhythmus Günther emerged beginning in 2013. Further EPs such as Mehris Mood in 2014 and Yamato in 2016 preceded the third album F.M.E Hustle, which surfaced on Money $ex Records in 2018. The following year the Richard Fearless-operated Drone label put out the tougher, quicker track “Beasts.”
