Biography
Ciaran Lavery, an Irish singer and songwriter, crafts music in a subdued, atmospheric style that blends grounded acoustic compositions with understated experimental touches. Hailing from Aghagallon, a modest village in Antrim, he first gained attention through his independently issued debut album Not Nearly Dark from 2013, followed by the EP Kosher; together these efforts accumulated millions of streams throughout 2014. In 2015 came Sea Legs, a joint mini-album created alongside electronic musician Ryan Vail, which helped broaden his reach even more. Subsequent to a strong summer spent performing across festivals in the U.K., Ireland, and Europe, Lavery signed with Believe Recordings, the label behind his second full-length record Let Bad In in 2016. This release marked another milestone, securing him the Northern Ireland Music Prize. After issuing a live album in 2017, he introduced the track "Everything Is Made to Last" as the lead single off his third album Sweet Decay, which arrived in 2018, with the follow-up single "To Chicago" emerging that March.
