Born to Sylvia Telles, among the foremost female voices of bossa nova, Claudia Telles entered the studio for the first time in 1976. Her initial release, the Robson Jorge and Maura Motta ballad “Fim de Tarde,” quickly became a hit. Several further singles preceded her self-titled debut LP, issued in 1977. Alongside bossa nova readings that revisited her mother’s best-known material, she later devoted an entire CD to the samba masters Cartola and Nelson Cavaquinho.
