Colde

Colde, born Gim Hui-su in 1994, first drew notice as the lead vocalist in the South Korean R&B duo Offonoff. After the pair distinguished themselves from mainstream K-pop through their pronounced R&B leanings, he began developing solo material that retained a similarly relaxed atmosphere while incorporating smoother hip-hop and rap elements on select tracks of his debut EP Wave, released in 2018.

The first solo release arrived that same year with the single “Your Dog Loves You,” a spare, understated recording that emphasized layered vocal harmonies. He followed it weeks later with the eight-track project Wave, whose contents ranged from mellow R&B grooves and vintage funk arrangements to sharper rap numbers. The EP reached number 23 on the Gaon chart. Momentum continued into May 2019 when he issued the follow-up EP Love, Pt. 1, which likewise performed strongly. In September of that year he maintained his pace with the new single “Control Me.”
