Heize

Korean singer/songwriter Heize draws from R&B, soul, and hip-hop to shape a fluid sound built on mid-tempo beats, warm vocals, and intermittent rap verses. After emerging during the 2010s, she released multiple EPs before delivering her debut full-length album, She's Fine, in 2019.

Born Jang Da-hye in Daegu, South Korea, Heize first gained widespread attention through the reality series Unpretty Rapstar. She had already put out her self-titled debut EP prior to the program, yet the exposure helped later projects chart in both Korea and the United States. Her third EP, III, featured two Korean chart-topping singles in "Don't Know You" and "You, Clouds, Rain"; each follow-up EP climbed further, reaching a high point in 2018 when Wind entered at number 12 domestically and number nine on the Billboard World Albums chart. Early the next year she issued her first studio album, She's Fine, whose title track reached the Top Ten, before wrapping up 2019 with her fifth EP, Late Autumn.
