Biography
CRX draws from the most polished and aggressive elements of power pop and metal from the 1970s and 1980s. The lineup includes Nick Valensi handling vocals and guitar, Ralph Alexander on drums, Jon Safley on bass, along with Richie Follin and Darian Zahedi who both contribute guitar and vocals. In addition to his role in CRX, Nick Valensi serves as the lead guitarist in the Strokes. Ralph Alexander belongs to the Dose as well, Jon Safley previously played in the Reflections, and Richie Follin is part of Guards. Their mutual admiration for Elvis Costello, Cheap Trick, and the Cars prompted them to begin collaborating in 2013. For their first record, New Skin, the group enlisted Josh Homme, the frontman of Queens of the Stone Age, as producer; the album was released in October 2016.
