Biography
Formed in early 2014, Cut Up emerged as a Swedish death metal quartet assembled by drummer Tobias Gustafsson and vocalist/bassist Erik Rundqvist. Both musicians had previously belonged to Vomitory prior to that band’s dissolution at the close of 2013. The lineup was completed by guitarist Anders Jakobson, who had performed with Coldworker between 2006 and 2013, and by guitarist/vocalist Andreas Björnson, who had fronted Fetus Stench.
Most of the year was devoted to songwriting and rehearsal before the group entered a recording studio in November. Their debut album, Forensic Nightmares, resulted from a process of collective songwriting and was issued by Metal Blade.
