CyHi the Prynce transmits urban insights via transparent verses brimming with inventive imagery. The MC surfaced from Atlanta's underground scene in 2010 by contributing to Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, which ignited his trajectory and initiated a sustained partnership with West, who has repeatedly sought his counsel ever since. In addition to Grammy nominations secured as co-author of West's "New Slaves," "Bound 2," "All Day," "Famous," and "Ultralight Beam" as well as Travis Scott's "Sicko Mode," CyHi maintains a substantial body of solo output. This comprises multiple mixtapes, the 2017 Sony debut album No Dope on Sundays that registered on the charts, and the independently issued 2022 release EGOT the EP, all while his joint projects have grown to encompass artists such as 2 Chainz, Drake, and Big Sean.

Born Cydel Charles Young in Stone Mountain, Georgia, CyHi entered the industry in the late 2000s through the collective Hoodlum. The outfit's contract with Jazze Pha's Def Jam-distributed Sho'nuff imprint failed to materialize, as did CyHi's subsequent solo arrangement with Akon's Konvict Muzik, although he did surface with the mixtape What da Decs Been Missin presented by DJ/producer Greg Street. In 2010 his stature climbed markedly following the arrival of Royal Flush, his first authentic mixtape, together with guest turns on selections by Yelawolf, A-Trak, B.o.B., and most prominently Kanye West. CyHi held his ground alongside RZA, Jay-Z, Swizz Beatz, and Pusha T on West's "So Appalled," first issued that September via the GOOD Fridays series before landing on the Billboard 200-topping My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Before the year concluded, CyHi's bond with West proved lasting, shown by his presence on further non-album GOOD Fridays cuts such as "Christmas in Harlem."

As CyHi continued expanding his mixtape catalog across the ensuing five years through Royal Flush 2, Jack of All Trades, and successive installments of Ivy League and Black Hystori Project, he accumulated recognition tied to his West collaborations. After appearing on West's 2012 GOOD Music compilation Cruel Summer, he co-authored all but one track on the following year's Yeezus. CyHi received his opening Grammy nominations for the Yeezus selections "New Slaves" and "Bound 2," then prolonged his Best Rap Song recognition streak across four years via co-writing "All Day," a standalone single that reached Top 20 on the pop charts, along with "Ultralight Beam" and "Famous," a Top 40 entry, both drawn from 2016's Life of Pablo and nominated at the 59th Grammy ceremony. Shortly after, CyHi co-wrote "Glow" featuring West for Drake's chart-topping More Life playlist. Having obtained a solo agreement with Sony Music, CyHi assembled his initial studio album, No Dope on Sundays, which included appearances by West, Pusha T, ScHoolboy Q, and 2 Chainz, the latter previously linked with CyHi on "Freebase." The project reached number 65 on the Billboard 200 upon its November 2017 release.

Travis Scott, likewise featured on No Dope on Sundays, later recruited CyHi to co-author the 2018 single "Sicko Mode." The track attained number one pop status and delivered CyHi his sixth Grammy nomination for Best Rap Song. CyHi extended that momentum with further joint efforts, contributing to tracks by Jack Harlow ("Drip Drop"), Royce da 5'9" ("Black Savage"), Big Sean ("Harder Than My Demons"), and Kanye West (the number 11 pop hit "Off the Grid") through 2021. CyHi founded EGOT Records to issue his own material and returned in 2022 with EGOT the EP.
