Daisy the Great channels folk-tinged indie pop through the theatrical, interwoven vocal harmonies of Kelley Nicole Dugan and Mina Walker, merging emotional openness with a singular sense of play. The band issued its debut full-length, I'm Not Getting Any Taller, in 2019. Their initial Billboard entry arrived in 2021 via “Record Player,” a reimagined take on an earlier track that featured AJR and spread rapidly online. The follow-up LP, All You Need Is Time, surfaced in late 2022, after which the group delivered the EP Tough Kid in 2023.

Kelley Nicole Dugan, raised in New York, and Mina Walker, originally from New Orleans, both trained as actors at Atlantic Acting School and NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts before establishing Daisy the Great in Brooklyn. The lineup later expanded to include additional vocalist Briana Archer, guitarist Matt Lau, bassist Bernardo Ochoa, and percussionist Matti Dunietz. The group’s first recording, the EP I’ve Got a Few Friends and I Wish They Were Mine, appeared on Paper Moon Records in early 2018; its first studio album, I’m Not Getting Any Taller, followed on the same imprint in early 2019. A warmer, more acoustic collection, the EP soft songs, emerged in May 2020.

Early in 2021, “The Record Player Song,” a memorable cut from one of the band’s initial EPs, gained traction on TikTok. Fellow New Yorkers AJR soon proposed a refreshed collaboration, issued later that year as “Record Player.” The updated single reached six separate Billboard charts and, together with the original, anchored the more pop-focused second album, All You Need Is Time, which S-Curve Records released that October. Daisy the Great resurfaced in 2023 with the EP Tough Kid, which contained two sequel tracks—“Glitter 2” and “Time Machine 2,” the latter featuring Illuminati Hotties.
