Born in Texas, Daron Norwood began performing vocally at an early age. After spending numerous seasons on the country music club circuit delivering energetic uptempo numbers and moving ballads, the resulting attention prompted Giant to offer him a recording contract. The performer's self-titled debut album appeared in 1994, with Ready, Willing and Able arriving the following year. Tracks taken from these two releases charted on country music listings across both the United States and Canada. Norwood subsequently stepped away from recording to address his addiction issues through rehabilitation, during which time he established the motivational initiative titled "Keep It Straight" aimed at educating youngsters regarding the risks associated with drugs and alcohol. The single "In God We Trust" came next from him, prior to the 2012 issuance of his third full-length effort, I Still Believe. On July 22, 2015, the 49-year-old passed away inside his residence located in Hereford, Texas.
