Biography
David Singer entered the independent music landscape in 2000 with a distinctive dreamy alternative pop approach that differentiated him from typical guitar-focused singer-songwriters. Hailing from the Chicago region, where he had played in the locally admired Kid Million, he performed nearly every instrument on his first solo album, the Deep Elm LP titled The Cost of Living. Two years afterward he returned with the ensemble the Sweet Science for another Deep Elm release, Civil Wars. His independently issued Stars Burn Out arrived in late 2004, marking his most accomplished recording to that point and earning support via regional performances.
