Biography
In the summer of 2005, three art students in Leeds, England, assembled the punk-tinged dance-pop outfit Dead Disco. Despite having performed only a small handful of concerts, the lineup of Victoria Hesketh (vocals, synthesizer), Lucy Catherwood (guitar), and Marie France (bass) supplied a track to a compilation issued by the local Dance to the Radio label. Their debut single, The Treatment, appeared on Manchester’s High Voltage imprint in April 2006. Still without a permanent drummer, the group followed with Automatic, the final release to emerge on London’s storied Fierce Panda label.
