Biography
In the closing years of the 1980s an American hard rock outfit called Dead Ringer assembled, its lineup comprising vocalist Charlie Huhn, guitarist Jay Johnson, keyboardist Joe Bouchard (b. 9 November 1948, ex-Blue Öyster Cult), bassist Dennis Dunaway and drummer Neal Smith (ex-Alice Cooper). Before joining, Huhn had fronted Victory. The band’s lone album, the 1989 debut Electrocution Of The Heart, was marred by inadequate production; already cumbersome songs were rendered still more impenetrable by a sparse mix, resulting in minimal notice from either reviewers or the public even though the group’s live shows commanded a markedly stronger following.
