Biography
Die Kreuzen emerged from Milwaukee, WI, during the opening years of the 1980s, drawing equal inspiration from heavy metal and hardcore punk. Their recordings delivered some of the period’s most demanding indie rock while foreshadowing the grunge rock sound that arrived in the 1990s. Dan Kubinski served as vocalist, Brian Egeness played guitar, Keith Brammer handled bass, and Eric Tunison sat behind the drums. After signing with Touch & Go in 1984, the quartet sustained its shift away from hardcore toward a more traditional hard rock sound.
