Biography
Having participated in the Iceland-based avant-garde ensembles S.H. Draumur and Bless, Gunnar Hjálmarsson launched the solo project Dr. Gunni as his own one-man endeavor. The 1991 debut EP Eins Og Folk Er Flesk found him pairing a drum machine with guitar to generate distorted noise that recalled early Butthole Surfers and Big Black. Bad Vugum Records then issued the Vessar 7" in 1992.
