Biography
From the tender age of four, Dulce Pontes delighted in delivering Portugal’s national anthem with evident pride, revealing a devotion that would define her artistic path. Her professional journey opened in 1988 when the gifted singer and actress secured victory in a regional talent competition. Following appearances in assorted stage productions and broadcast programs, she entered the 1991 Portuguese Song Festival, triumphing with the number “Lusitana Paixao” and thereby earning selection as her homeland’s entrant for Eurovision. The locally issued debut album Lusitana arrived in 1992, succeeded by Lágrimas the next year and, in 1995, the double-live set Dulce Pontes Em Concerto -- A Brisa Do Coracao.
