Biography
The triumph of OutKast’s Stankonia, along with its accompanying tour schedule, prompted L.A. Reid of Arista Records to green-light a full recording project under the Dungeon Family banner. This Atlanta rap supergroup assembled André 3000 and Big Boi alongside members of Goodie Mob and Organized Noize, as well as several lesser-known affiliates such as Cool Breeze and Backbone. Released in 2001, the collective’s debut album Even in Darkness showcased production from both Organized Noize and Earthtone III, while the project’s numerous members handled the rapping duties.
