Formed in 1985 by talented guitarist Miguel Botafogo, the Argentinean six-piece Latin/jazz band Durazno de Gala issued its first recording, Rhythm & Blues, two years later. The follow-up albums Banda de Garage and Asunto de Blues appeared in 1988 and 1989 respectively, joined by the Main Records collection Piratas 1987-1989. In 1991 the group opened for B.B. King during the King of Blues’ South American itinerary and, in 1993, supported Carlos Santana at Buenos Aires’ Velez Sarsfield stadium. Durazno de Gala ended its activity following the 1994 release of Una Vieja Historia, produced by Rinaldo Rafanelli.
