Marilina Bertoldi stands out as an award-winning Argentine performer who sings, composes songs, and plays guitar while drawing a massive following throughout Latin America. She also champions feminist causes and functions as a persistent critic and agitator inside the music business. Her sound fuses bold indie and garage rock with neo-psychedelia, sharp-angled post-punk, warped blues, and soul.

Operating from Buenos Aires, she created and fronted the band Marilina Conor Questa, which released its self-titled EP in 2010 and the well-regarded full-length Somos por Partes the next year. In 2013 the group shortened its name to Conor Questa for a charting self-titled album; she then exited to begin working alone.

Her initial solo EP, La Presencia de las Personas Que Se Van, appeared in 2014. The 2017 album Sexo con Modelos received a Gardel award for album of the year, making her only the second woman after Mercedes Sosa to earn that distinction. Prender un Fuego followed in the subsequent year and captured another Gardel, this time for Best Female Rock Album. She released the long-player Mojigata in March 2022. Her older sister, Luisina "Lula" Bertoldi, sings lead and plays guitar in the veteran rock band Eruca Sativa.
