La Vela Puerca

In the closing years of the 1980s the Uruguayan group La Vela Puerca entered the domestic rock circuit, launching its recording career with the album Deskarado on the independent label Obligado Producciones. The ska/reggae band soon earned opening slots alongside established acts such as los Piojos, la Renga, and Todos Tus Muertos. Producer Gustavo Santaolalla subsequently arranged a recording contract with Universal for La Vela Puerca.
