Argentinean ska-punk outfit Los Auténticos Decadentes came together in 1986 when several youths decided to form a group purely for amusement and performances at school gatherings. Their knack for shifting between rockabilly, romantic ballads, and other genres, combined with the collective input of numerous skilled players, quickly elevated the ensemble to a prominent position on the local scene. The 1990 sessions for El Milagro Argentino featured vocalist Gustavo Parisi, guitarists Jorge Serrano, Gustavo Montecchia, and Diego Demarco, bassist Pablo Armesto, percussionists Gastón Bernardou, Martin Lorenzo, and Eduardo Trípodi, saxophonist Pablo Cabanchiek, trombonist Daniel Zimbello, trumpeter Guillermo Eijo, and drummer Martin Pajarola. A contract with BMG arrived in 1991, yielding the album Supersonico and the 1992 follow-up El Nuevo Milagro, whose track “Siga el Baile” became a hit single. Another success arrived via the 1995 release Mi Vida Loca, which propelled “La Guitarra” to the summit of leading domestic charts. Beginning in May 1996, the band embarked on an extensive tour circuit that encompassed Argentina, Colombia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Peru, Ecuador, México, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Cualquiera Puede Cantar appeared in 1997 and was succeeded by Hoy Trasnoche in 2000.
