Molotov

Formed in Mexico City during 1995, the rap-metal band Molotov came together around singer/guitarist Tito Fuentes, bassists Mickey "Huidos" Huidobro and Jay de la Cueva, and a drummer known as "La Quesadillera." Lineup adjustments arrived the next year as Paco Ayala took de la Cueva’s place and Randy "El Gringo Loco" Ebright joined on drums. The group’s 1997 debut LP, Donde Jugaran Las Ninas?, connected with both Spanish- and English-speaking audiences and earned a Grammy nomination for best Latin rock-alternative performance. A year later the remix collection Molomix appeared, followed in 1999 by the band’s return with Apocalypshit, produced and recorded by Mario Caldato, Jr. (the Beastie Boys). Molotov followed with their third album, Dance and Dense Denso, in 2020.
