Biography
Fingers operates as a trio from Melbourne, Australia, specializing in sparse, haunting darkwave folk shaped by shadowy vocals, spacious acoustic guitars, fluid bass guitar, and synthesizer used only sparingly. Tarquin Manek and Sam Karmel, both formerly of Bum Creek, join vocalist Carla dal Forno, previously of Mole House, in the lineup. The project first appeared under the name Fingers Pty Ltd and issued the cassette Broken Fingers on Night People. Manek and dal Forno formed the duo Tarcar in 2014, releasing the debut EP Mince Glace on Blackest Ever Black. The same label put out Hide Before Dinner, the first LP from the rechristened Fingers, in 2015. That year the group also produced the limited tour-only cassette Trilogy: They Got the Best Heart. After dal Forno delivered her debut solo album You Know What It's Like in 2016, Fingers resurfaced in 2017 with the full-length Awkwardly Blissing Out.
