Peter Henrici, an alumnus of The Merlons, joined forces with Fiddler's Green's Tobias Heindl in 2004 to launch the German parody ensemble known as Feuerschwanz. The initial roster consisted of players from Henrici's previous project, which later expanded into a complete group. To lend the act an origin story reaching back to 1223, Henrici along with his associates shared stages with Fiddler's Green during numerous medieval performances, quickly attracting fans through their witty spin on medieval rock music. The debut record Prima Nocte came out in 2005, with the follow-up Met & Miezen arriving two years later. As the concerts evolved into elaborate productions featuring additional musicians plus a troupe of dancers and performers called the "chicks," Feuerschwanz issued their third effort, Metvernichter, in 2009. Ongoing road work and a standout appearance at the Wacken festival in 2011 boosted their popularity further, allowing the 2011 album Wunsch Ist Wunsch to crack the German charts at position 95. The fifth studio album Walhalligalli followed in 2012 and climbed to number 37 on the same listing.
