François Pérusse

Born in Quebec City during October 1960, Francois Perusse is a comedian and musician from Quebec whose reputation rests on the ongoing series of sketch-and-song collections known as L'Album du Peuple (The Album of the People). After playing music in his early years, he turned his attention to a distinctive mix of spoken sketches and comic songs. His initial breakthrough arrived in 1990 when the radio program Les 2 Minutes du Peuple began airing on CKOI. The first volume of L'Album du Peuple appeared in 1991 and inaugurated a sequence that, by 2013, comprised nine releases, each referred to as a tome. Portions of his material reached listeners in France, where a dedicated edition of L'Album du Peuple was prepared specifically for those audiences, while additional broadcasts took place in Belgium and Switzerland. Canadian radio honors have been bestowed on him repeatedly for the programs he created there.
