Frans Jeppsson Wall entered the world in Ystad, Sweden, during 1989. His initial taste of recognition arrived at age seven, when he appeared on Elias’s Swedish chart success “Who’s Da Man.” Timed with the Euro 2006 soccer championship, the track honored national football icon Zlatan Ibrahimović and held the summit of the Swedish singles ranking for thirteen weeks. Late in 2006 Frans issued his own release, “Kul med Jul,” which, though less dominant than its predecessor, still registered on the singles listing and appeared on his debut full-length Da Man, issued via Universal. Another two years passed before he resurfaced with the football-centric “Fotbollsfest,” a second chart-topper on the Swedish singles tally. Not until 2016 did he again command widespread attention, this time by competing in Melodifestivalen 2016. The annual event, tasked with selecting Sweden’s Eurovision representative, awarded him victory through combined jury and public votes. His winning entry “If I Were Sorry” finished fifth at the Stockholm Eurovision final yet climbed prominently on singles charts throughout Europe.
