Biography
Frederic Blais, the DJ, remixer, and producer better known as Fred Everything, entered the world in Hull before growing up in Quebec City, Canada. He first explored music-making at thirteen, when earnings from singing along to beloved tracks allowed him to purchase an initial synthesizer. By the middle of the 1990s he had launched his career behind the decks.
After completing multiple residencies throughout Montreal’s club scene, he relocated to the U.K., where he quickly appeared at such respected venues as the Bomb and Soulsonic along with other prominent local spots. His standout set at Glasgow’s In The City festival marked the decisive turning point. March 2001 saw the arrival of his debut album-length project, Everything Under the Sun. Later that year he also issued the mix collection DJ Set 01 and the compilation From the Deep: Remixes 1998-2001, both showcasing his signature funky and soulful approach.
