Biography
Sweden's Gadget fuses grindcore, punk, death, black, doom, and sludge metal into a ferocious combination whose history stretches back to the closing years of the 1990s. William Blackmon launched the project as an instrument-swapping counterpart to his more conventional metalcore band Abegail. Recording the first demo alongside Rikard Olsson, Blackmon operated strictly as a duo until Emil Englund came aboard. A second demo then attracted Relapse Records, which signed the band and issued its debut album, Remote, in 2004. That release also marked the arrival of Fredrik Nygren. After a decade of silence the quartet delivered its second album, The Funeral March, in 2006. The Great Destroyer, their third LP, surfaced in early 2016.
