Biography
Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, the electro-pop outfit Gameboy/Gamegirl first drew notice in 2007 via a pair of tracks that quickly became blog favorites, “Sweaty Wet/Dirty Damp” and “Fruit Salad.” The lineup features vocalists Katy, Jess, and Tranter, with Miami Horror—born Benjamin Vanguarde—handling production duties; he also works independently as a producer, remixer, and DJ. Following repeated coverage and free circulation on music blogs throughout 2007, the two songs appeared as commercial singles in 2008 and were collected with five other tracks on the seven-track Golden Ghetto Sex EP, released that year through Sweat It Out Records.
