Gary Hobbs

Texas-based vocalist Gary Hobbs had risen to prominence within the Tejano circuit by the middle of the 1980s. His introduction to music occurred at age eight in Eagle Pass, where he started piano instruction. That early training paved the way for a show-business entry when he later performed on guitar beside the Piedras Negras ensemble La Rondalla. Toward the close of the 1990s he established a management firm aimed at developing fresh talent, signing young Laurita Aguirre as its initial client. Sony Music issued his seventeenth long-player, Sueño, in September 2000.
