Biography
Emerging from Bristol's club environment, Paul Crossman—performing as both General Midi and Fluid—first drew notice by taking up a residency at the Shimmy Club in 1994. His sets fused breakbeat with nu-skool, electronica, house, and hip-hop, turning him into a sought-after draw and prompting extensive European tours. The single "The Westerner" appeared in 1999; two years later came "Daft Funk," the same year his debut album Genetically Modified was issued. Having since joined forces with producer Eelz and MC Jakes, General Midi put out MIDI Style in 2006.
