Biography
Pop vocalist Hadise, born in Mol, Belgium to Turkish parents, has concentrated the majority of her work on Turkey by hosting that country’s editions of The Voice and Popstars, representing it at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest (where she placed fourth with “Dum Tek Tek”), and issuing the Turkish-language albums Kahraman and Aşk Kaç Beden Giyer?. Drawing influence from Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, and Janet Jackson, she first rose to prominence in Belgium after her discovery on Pop Idol, then notched successes with the 2004 debut Sweat and the self-titled 2008 follow-up while also serving a one-season stint as host of The X Factor. An urban-flavored successor to 2009’s Fast Life is slated for release in 2013.
