Biography
Hailing from Chicago, the lo-fi outfit Heavy Times produces a raucous fusion of classic garage rock and jangle pop, routing hook-laden tunes through gritty, low-fidelity gear. Without employing a bassist, Cacaw drummer Kyle Reynolds teamed with dual guitarists Bo Hanson and Matt Courtade to capture the band’s debut album Dead during 2010, after which Rotted Tooth Recordings pressed the LP in a run limited to 300 copies. Dinosaur Club Records later issued the Too Many Dreamers EP strictly as a collector’s item, manufacturing just ten 12-inch copies, before Heavy Times returned with its second full-length, Jacker, on Hozac in 2011.
