Biography
After V8 dissolved in 1987, Ricardo Iorio assembled the Argentinian group Hermética. The ensemble made its first appearance in May 1988 inside a neighborhood venue in San Martin. The self-titled debut album surfaced in 1989 and received its initial live airing at a Córdoba hall; the follow-up records Interpretes and Acido Argentino arrived in 1990 and 1991, respectively. During the latter year, Claudio Strunz took over the drum chair from Scotto. Hermética supported Black Sabbath at Buenos Aires’ Obras Sanitarias in 1992 and issued a concert recording twelve months later. The following year the band appeared among the opening acts at the Monsters of Rock festival, whose bill was topped by Slayer, Black Sabbath, and Kiss. Internal friction prompted the group’s dissolution in 1994. Ricardo Iorio passed away on October 24, 2023, at the age of 61.
