V8

In the early 1980s Ricardo Iorio founded the Argentine heavy metal group V8 and brought in vocalist Alberto Zamarbide, guitarist Osvaldo Civile and drummer Gustavo Rowek to round out the original roster. The band gained immediate attention on the Buenos Aires rock circuit after appearing at the 1982 Buenos Aires Rock Festival, an exposure that soon led to a support slot for the Spanish act Barón Rojo. Their debut album Luchando Por El Metal arrived in 1983 and was followed two years later by Un Paso Mas En La Batalla. After a concert in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Civile and Rowek exited the lineup and were succeeded by guitarist Miguel Roldán and drummer Adrián Cenci. V8 issued El Fin De Los Inicuos before finally disbanding in 1987.
