The punk revival quintet Electric Frankenstein brought together vocalist Steve Miller, guitarists Jim Foster and Sal Canzonieri, bassist Donato Canzonieri, and drummer Rob Sefcik. Emerging from New York in the mid-1990s, the band first drew notice through numerous singles released on independent imprints such as Demolition Derby, Frisbee, Get Hip, and Estrus, in addition to frequent appearances on various compilations. Their debut album, Electric Frankenstein Conquers the World, arrived in 1996. The following year saw the release of both Sick Songs and The Time Is Now, while 1998 brought Listen Up Baby and Spare Parts; the band maintained its steady pace in 1999 with How to Make a Monster. A year after that came Dawn of Electric Frankenstein, a collection spotlighting acts that had shaped the group’s sound, and two further studio albums, Annie's Grave and Touch Me I'm Electric, surfaced in early 2001.
