Formed in Oslo during 1994, the Norwegian cock-rock outfit Gluecifer brought together vocalist Biff Malibu, guitarists Captain Poon and Sinduru Khan, bassist Jon Average, and drummer Glueros Hellfire. Their opening release arrived the next year as the single “God’s Chosen Dealer.” The 12-inch “Dick Disguised as Pussy” surfaced in 1996; after Khan and Hellfire departed in favor of guitarist Raldo Useless and drummer Danny Young, the band delivered its debut album, Ridin’ the Tiger, on White Jazz in 1997.

A rapid succession of 45s—“Dambuster,” “Leather Chair,” “Shitty City,” “Lard Ass Hagan,” and “Get the Horn”—led into the 1998 full-length Soaring with Eagles at Night to Rise with Pigs in the Morning. Further singles kept the group visible through 1999, among them “The Year of Manly Living,” “Go Away Man,” and “Get That Psycho Out of My Face.” Early in 2000 Sub Pop issued the EP Get the Horn, followed that summer by Tender Is the Savage and, in the fall, General Says Hell Yeah.

After a period of relative inactivity, Gluecifer returned in 2003 with several new singles and the album Basement Apes. Automatic Thrill appeared the following year, yet the band dissolved in 2005.
