Almafuerte

In the mid-1990s, ex-V8 and Hermética member Ricardo Iorio launched the Argentinian heavy metal band Almafuerte together with guitarist Claudio Marciello and drummer Claudio Cardaci. The ensemble unveiled its debut album, Mundo Guanaco, in 1995. A year later the group issued Del Entorno, produced by Flavio Cianciarullo of Los Fabulosos Cadillacs; Cardaci then departed and was succeeded first by Rodolfo Márquez and subsequently by Walter Martínez. Almafuerte supplied the main title for the 1999 film soundtrack of El Visitante. Drummer Bin Valencia passed away on October 1, 2022, at age 61. Founder Ricardo Iorio followed on October 24, 2023, likewise aged 61.
