Biography
Pappo's Blues originated as an Argentine Latin and rock outfit toward the end of the 1960s. Its founder, the skilled electric guitarist Norberto Napolitano—formerly of Los Abuelos de la Nada and widely known as Pappo—assembled the first lineup with bassist David Lebón and drummer Black Amaya. A self-titled debut appeared in 1971, after which Pappo's Blues, Vol. 2 arrived and included the Argentine rock staple "El Tren De Las 16." Bassist Alejandro Medina and percussionist Isa Portugheis joined the ranks in 1974. Once Darío Fernandez took over the drum chair in 1978, the group laid down its seventh album. The members staged a farewell concert in November 1980 that was billed as their final live performance. The band nonetheless resurfaced in 1995 and later issued Caso Cerrado together with El Auto Rojo in 1999.
