Hiro Kurosaki, a Baroque violinist, has established himself as a leading presence in historically informed performance through both his playing and his teaching. Born in Tokyo, he moved with his family to Vienna at age seven. His violin studies were with Franz Samohyl, and he joined Nathan Milstein’s master classes. Prizes from the Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition and the Fritz Kreisler Competition led to engagements with numerous major orchestras. Performing on the Baroque violin, Kurosaki has appeared with Les Arts Florissants, the Clemencic Consort, Cappella Coloniensis, and La Ritirata, and has served as a guest artist at international early music festivals around the world. He has taught at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, the University of Music in Karlsruhe, and the Mozarteum Salzburg.
