Husky Rescue

Husky Rescue originated in 2002 when Marko Nyberg assembled the project in Finland, drawing from cinema, photographic imagery, visual art, and the nation’s distinctive weather patterns. Recording the first album under the Husky Rescue moniker, Nyberg enlisted roughly twenty musicians and vocalists. The resulting effort, Country Falls—an ambient pop set carrying faint country inflections—appeared on Catskills Records for worldwide distribution in October 2004, followed by its United States release on Minty Fresh during spring 2005. To support live performances Nyberg brought in Reeta-Leena Korhola on vocals, Ville Riippa on keyboards, Anssi Sopanen on drums, and Miika Colliander on guitar. Alongside a series of U.K. dates supporting Morcheeba, the expanded lineup delivered the band’s inaugural American concert in March 2005.
