Biography
Hydrogyn emerged from Ashland, Kentucky as a dynamic modern rock ensemble fronted by a female vocalist, blending the catchy riffs of classic hard rock with the rhythmic drive of groove-oriented alt-metal. Guitarists Jeff Westlake and Jeff Boggs formed the group in 2004 alongside powerhouse vocalist Julie Westlake. Their debut album, Best Served with Volume, followed soon after its inception. Pepsi took notice of the record, offering endorsement that secured a featured performance at the 2005 NASCAR Chevy Rocking 400. Later releases such as Bombshell (2006), Deadly Passions (2008), Judgement (2010), and Private Sessions (2012) reinforced Hydrogyn’s standing as one of the East Coast’s leading modern rock acts, generating multiple Billboard Heatseekers chart entries while supporting extensive tours throughout the United States and overseas. Julie Westlake exited in 2015, with Erica Parrott stepping in as the new vocalist and making her recorded introduction on the 2017 album Redemption.
