Ice Age

Ice Age, a New York-based progressive metal outfit, merges the melodic leanings of American prog-pop groups such as Styx and Kansas with Rush’s denser sonic force, the polished European phrasing of Deep Purple and Michael Schenker, and the updated textures supplied by Fates Warning, King’s X, and Dream Theater. Vocalist and keyboardist Josh Pincus, guitarist Jimmy Pappas, bassist Aaron DiCesare, and drummer Hal Aponte—formerly of Cold Steel—comprise the lineup that delivered its first album, The Great Divide, in 1999. Liberation appeared two years later.
