Biography
Los Angeles trio Prettiest Eyes fuses garage, punk, Motorik, and psych into its sound, built around drummer/vocalist Pachy García, bassist Marcos Rodríguez, and keyboardist Paco Casanova. Pachy García and Marcos Rodríguez, both originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, started the band, adding Paco Casanova once founding keyboardist Love Juice had left. The group issued its self-titled debut EP as a digital release in November 2013 and brought out the PEEP EP the following January, after which Moon Kid collected the two EPs on cassette later that year. A split cassette with Kim & the Created also appeared in 2014. Aagoo released the band’s first full-length album, Looks, a year afterward. Thee Oh Sees’ John Dwyer placed Prettiest Eyes on his Castle Face imprint, which put out the second album, Pools, in 2017. Issued by the same label, 2019’s Vol. 3 pushed Prettiest Eyes further into lo-fi electronics and synth punk.
